Chiropractic Care Dr. Tina & Dr. Mike

Chiropractic is an art, philosophy, and science.  It is based on the relationship of the spin (bony structures) and the nervous system.  The philosophy recognizes that the innate, self-healing ability of the human body is what allows chiropractic to work.  When the body structures of the spine compress the nerves exiting the spinal cord, interference occurs and messages transmitted by the brain are unable to reach their target   Homeostasis (maintenance of internal equilibrium) is interrupted whenever nerve interference, or "subluxation" is present.  A subluxation is defined as a "condition of a vertebra that has lost its proper juxtaposition with the one above, below or both, to an extent less than a subluxation, which impinges nerves and interferes with the transmission of mental impulses, according to Dr. Fred Barge, D.C.  If a subluxation is present, the ability of the immune system to participate fully in the protection of the body is diminished.  The subluxation at the site of the exiting nerves results in an inability of these sensory messages to be transmitted to the target organs. Once the chiropractor arrives at the diagnosis, the removal of the interference in the full expression of the body's life force with refined manual therapies that are high in velocity (quick) and short amplititude (of little depth).  The hands-on techniques are used to perform the appropriate adjustment.

Dr. Mike and Dr. Tina believe in the body's natural ability to heal itself.  Chiropractic is not about treatment of disease or pain, but about realigning the life force (the innate intelligence) contained in the Nervous System allowing the body to heal itself.  His adjustment technique is described as gently but very specific in nature.  They only adjusts areas that need to be realigned. They treats the total body, spending more than just a few minutes with each patient.

These skilled doctors provide private, total body, hands on treatment to prevent or correct illness/pain. Dr. Mike and Dr. Tina use techniques such as:  manipulation of the spine and other joints, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, flexion/distraction and gentle work with activators.
